How
We Worship
Everything in its Place - Our
worship follows a fixed order of service called a 'liturgy'.
The entire service is designed to be 'Christ-Centered' and has two
high points: The reading of the Gospel and Communion.
Same
Old Thing?
- It may seem that we do the same thing week in week out, but if
you notice the Psalm (called the 'Introit'), the Scripture readings,
the prayers, the hymns, and of course the sermon are all different
each week. In addition, some parts of our service change depending
on the time of the year.
Stand
up, Sit down
- You may notice we do a lot of standing and sitting in our services.
There is a reason behind this. We stand when we are speaking to
God and sit when we are listening to God's Word.
By
the Book
- We use a hymnal in our services. The hymnal keeps our songs, prayers,
orders of service, and even the Psalms we use, in one handy place.
A
Singing Church
- Our church loves to sing! We believe that music and song are gifts
from God. Our songs are not always easy to sing, but we encourage
people to 'make a joyful noise to the Lord' (Psalm 100) whether
they are musically inclined or not!

Holy
Communion
- We believe that Jesus Christ's Body and Blood are really present
with the bread and wine in communion. As such, we practice, with
80% of the world's Christians, closed communion. We ask that only
members of the Lutheran church receive communion at our altars.
Well
Fed
- No, not potlucks-though we have them, but our church emphasizes
being nourished from God's Word. Put into practice the Lutheran
Church has the 2nd largest parochial school system in America. In
addition, all our pastors hold a master's degree in theology. More
locally, we offer several Bible studies and year round Sunday school
so that all ages may be 'well fed' on God's Word.
